AirVets Pet Relocation announces new route to transport pets from DFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Sydney Australia on Qantas flight QF8.
Up until now pets going to Australia from the United States had to travel from Los Angeles or San Francisco California. Over the past year Dr. David Landers has worked with Australia’s Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), the United States Department of Agriculture Animal Plant Health Inspection Service Veterinary Services National Center for Export and Export (USDA APHIS VS NCIE) and Qantas to open up the DFW to SYD routing for pets.
The long process to get all aspects of pet shipping on this flight resulted in the first pets taking this routing on Wednesday October 2nd 2013. All 3 pets on the flight made the trip safely and arrived at the Eastern Creek Quarantine Station in Sydney in good shape and are ready for their new life in Australia once their quarantine period is over.
For the near future pets will be scheduled to fly on Qantas QF8 every Wednesday. In order to prepare them properly for export pets will need to arrive at DFW International Airport by 12pm on Monday the week of the shipment if coming from other areas. Final health certificate work including internal and external parasite treatment, and microchip verification must be completed that afternoon in order to get USDA endorsement for shipment on Wednesday.
If you have a pet that needs to go to Australia, give AirVets Pet Relocation a call and we’ll get them there. Dallas Fort Worth DFW International Airport is convenient to all of the east coast and the central United States.
